The Seahorse Foundation
Social and community engagement is a core component of responsible entrepreneurship. Kuno Holz, general partner of GHC Gerling, Holz & Co. KG, is committed to this responsibility. In December 2015 he founded the Seahorse Foundation.
This foundation supports children and young people in Hamburg who do not have enough opportunities of their own to learn to swim. It has the status of a legal foundation under civil law with its seat in Hamburg. The purpose of the foundation is to promote education and upbringing as well as youth welfare.
According to the purpose of the statutes, the foundation provides financial support for swimming lessons for children and young people up to the age of 14, carried out by the DLRG Landesverband Hamburg e.V.
The Seahorse Foundation also paves the way for these swimming lessons – e.g. by providing adequate facilities such as indoor swimming pools and swimming pools. Here she takes over e.g. rental costs or repairs.
The Seahorse Foundation has sponsored many beginner swimming courses since 2015.
